Jaime and Matt’s Engagement Session – Sneak Peek!

Jaime and Matt met us on a warm late spring afternoon on the upper east side and we cabbed over to Central Park — a Central Park crowded with happy New Yorkers soaking up the unfamiliar sun. We visited a few of their favorite places, took some pictures, and celebrated being young, alive and in love in the greatest place on earth. It truly doesn’t get much better than that.

And how cool was it that they had a plate of cookies delivered to our studio, arriving just as we were uploading this blog post? Some people just have perfect timing.

Colleen and Mike’s Engagement

Colleen and Mike came from Boston to have their early-Spring engagement photo session in Saratoga Springs, NY. A graduate of Skidmore College, Colleen had great ideas for locations around town.

We started in Congress Park, joining the hundreds of people out enjoying the unusually warm day. Then we made a quick stop at the Hall of Springs, and ended the session at the Olde Saratoga Brewing Company where Colleen and Mike had arranged a tour. Max explained the specialty beer making process and Colleen and Mike were able to sample the latest brews, giving us a great setting for photos.

Colleen and Mike were great to work with, and we are really looking forward to their wedding later this year!

After signing up for “Some Girls Say I Do,” brides can work with one of Some Girls’ professional stylists through their entire pre-wedding journey. Some Girls charges a one-time fee of $300 for rental ALL wardrobe necessities for upcoming events leading up to the big day, including the engagement party, engagement photos, bridal shower, bachelorette party and rehearsal dinner. Some Girls’ deep experience with styling for photo shoots makes them particularly helpful during engagement photo sessions, ensuring flawless and creative pictures! Engagement photo support services include a consultation with the bride to find the perfect look, transporting the wardrobe changes to the location the day of the shoot and on-set styling support to achieve a fabulous, confident look!

Upstate Photographers provides very special rates for winter weddings. Our upcoming winter wedding season runs from November 23, 2012 through March 17, 2013. During this period, we have a very special $1499 wedding photography package guaranteed to put a smile on your face! Here’s what we’re offering this year:

Classic Winter Wedding. Two photographers (both Paul & Brenda) to cover your wedding from “getting ready” to the last formal event of your reception (cake cutting, garter toss, etc.). This can include up to eight consecutive hours. Additional hours available at $149/hr. Includes unlimited exposures taken; after the wedding, all the best images (typically between 500 and 800) are professionally edited: cropped, adjusted for brightness and contrast, color corrected, and prepared for professional lab printing. We deliver these images in an online gallery, and to you on DVD via Fed Ex, typically within two weeks of the event, in high resolution, suitable for printing, posting to Facebook, etc. Includes a usage license that lets you print, publish, and distribute your wedding pictures as you wish.* $1499

Fashion Shoot With Nakia Crouse

Recently Nakia Crouse, owner of Essence of Hair Spa in Albany, NY was looking for a photographer to shoot some fashion looks she had been working up, and we were able to convince her that despite all the glamour and alternative work in our portfolio, that we did a pretty mean fashion look as well. On Sunday March 18, 2012 she and Makeup Artist Extraordinaire Erin Marzilli came to our studio with three gorgeous models and a rack of clothes — some from our friend Margaret Partyka’s Some Girls Boutique two blocks away from our studio in Troy, and some from Nakia’s collection. Models Chanel Parson, Ashley Loggins, and Paris Myrick gave us their best, and I think the results are stunning. What an amazing team! Here’s a sneak peak at the results — more to come!
