One of the things we strongly believe about our photographs is that they look best when printed BIG! We’re always a little disappointed when we see clients ordering tiny 4×6 or even 8×10 prints — we know their pictures look so much better printed large, at 16×20 or even 20×30 inches.
In talking with our clients, we’ve discovered two main reasons people hesitate to order big prints: one, they are worried about whether a picture will look great blown up large, and two, they are intimidated by the cost of custom frames — you can’t just go to Target and buy a standard frame for a 16×20 print – you have to go to an expensive custom frame shop. So we decided to tackle this situation head on and come up with some great solutions!
We recommend sending all orders for large prints through our studio. This way, we can go back to the original file and make sure it is perfectly optimized for sharpness, contrast, brightness, and cropped perfectly to fit the print size you want. We handle the printing, and do a quality check before the print is delivered to you, to make sure it is of the highest possible quality. If you’re interested in low-cost but very elegant frames, we have found a source of gorgeous museum-type frames that aren’t available anywhere in the Capital Region (even on the internet!). We keep a good inventory of them in the three most popular sizes at our studio, allowing us to provide you with matted, framed professional prints at extraordinarily good prices.
How to order large prints
If you want to order a large (11×14 or larger) print, we have a simple process. Send us an email with the following information:
1. Your name
2. The filename(s) of the prints you want to order
3. The quantity and size of prints you want made
4. If you want them framed and matted in one of our three frame types (black, white, or silver)
We will invoice you for the cost of the prints and frames, and order them from our lab. After the prints arrive back at our studio in Troy and pass our inspection, we will email you so you can pick them up, or if you prefer we can FedEx them to your address.
